All windows operated PCs have registry. This is basically a basically a central database of information which the operating system uses to run the machine. Over time as the computer is used the registry become cluttered with excess data which causes it to run slowly and to be balky in operation.
The causes for registry errors are many; incorrect installation and uninstallation of applications, file downloads frequent changes in system and network configurations, and almost all other tasks performed daily on the computer. Installing too many programs and software on the computer too causes registry conflicts, registry bloating due to the accumulation of a large number of unwanted information. Because of this, the settings become corrupt & damaged, leaving Windows with a selection of mixed-up files that take longer and longer to process. Unfortunately, the registry is not self cleaning and after a while, registry files point to things that aren’t in their original place anymore because the registry can not find a file properly in a maze of excess files.

The solution to this problem lies in removing the unwanted material from the registry. This can be done manually using the Regedit function if you really know the registry and what should be in it. However if your knowledge of the Registry is limited you should never attempt it. You accidentally remove one essential entry and your computer will be disabled completely.
Thankfully, registry cleaners are here for our rescue. Most programs are easy to download and very user friendly.
The first time you run the registry cleaner of your choice, you may find a lot of errors but if you run it on a regular basis, the number of errors will be reduced considerably. The time taken by the program to scan your hard drive is directly proportional to the speed of your computer, the size of the hard drive and the number of errors it is finding. At the completion of the scan, your program will list all the errors that need fixing and you will be given the option to fix, delete or leave.
After you push the fix button, the necessary actions will be taken and your computer will be relatively error free for the time being. You will notice the speed and performance of your computer has increased remarkably.

Thus a registry cleaning program can be your best friend and help make your computing life a lot easier.
